Live On The Green

Why is it that we are always surprised at how fast time goes by?  “I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since last Christmas”, “Wow, five? Your child is five already?”, “I just bought this cheese, how could it already be bad?”  These are all familiar examples of how we describe our shock in time passing quickly.  Can you believe it’s time for Live On The Green again?!

Lightning 100′s, Live On The Green is a six week outdoor concert series at Public Square Park, downtown Nashville.  This year’s line-up includes Will Hoge, The Nashville Symphony with K.S. Rhoads, Los Lonely Boys, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Edwin McCain, Ten Out of Tenn, Brett Dennen and Here Come the Mummies with many more supporting acts.

Live On The Green is an eco-conscious event.  Lightning 1oo’s Team Green Adventures is leading the event to implement eco-friendly practices by offering the attendees sustainable options.  Low waste, recycling, free bike check, food waste management, eco-friendly products offered by vendors, local food vendors and many other programs help make Live On The Green a very environmentally safe and sustainable  event.

Get Green To Get Green has teamed up with Live On The Green and is collecting old cell phones to recycle every Thursday!  “Who brings old cell phones to a concert?”, you may be asking.  You should!  Here’s why:  Every phone that is recycled will be used to help Sound Forest (a Nashville based organization) plant new trees in the Nashville area. The phones don’t even need to be working!  Bring them in any condition.  If everyone brought just one phone, we could help plant 150 new trees each week!

If only there was a button to press that would make this thing viral and everyone in the world could know that they can make a difference by recycling their old phones at Live On The Green…

How to Make Your Business More Efficient Through Recycling

Today, environmental stewardship is becoming increasingly popular. Most people are looking for businesses that value sustainability, are getting involved in preserving the planet and are reducing their carbon footprint. In response to this recent (last 6 years) “Green” demand, businesses are incorporating eco-friendly practices as well as developing strategic partnerships with other organizations that can help them achieve their newly adapted “green” legislation.

Get Green To Get Green understands that although many businesses do care about “green” initiatives, they have little time and resources to commit to them. Here’s some good news:

➢ Reducing and reusing items is an incredible way for companies to save money and conserve energy.
➢ Recycling eliminates excessive consumption of new resources.
➢ Recycling makes even more sense when it’s free (from start to finish) and rewards companies monetarily for their recycling efforts.
➢ Top that off with a “green” reputation that makes the customers happy, and you’re golden.

Now, with over 130 million cell phones thrown out each year (and rising) the public has become aware of how toxic electronic waste (e-waste) has become. This is why it is important for corporations and cell phone retailers to get involved in recycling initiatives.

With a Bulk Buy Back corporate recycling service, small businesses and large corporations alike are able to “Get Green” environmentally and “Get Green” monetarily by recycling their old cell phones.

Corporate Buy Back:

Companies that provide cell phones to their employees benefit from Get Green’s Bulk Buy Back program. When it is time to upgrade your company’s old phones, this program will significantly reduce upgrade costs by offsetting the expense. Every phone is accepted no matter what the condition is.

Cell Phone Retailers:

With so many people coming into your business (usually looking to upgrade their existing phone), a recycling service is ideal. This service provides an opportunity to offer your customers an environmentally safe way to dispose of their old phones.

Some businesses prefer to turn the collected phones into a charitable contribution. This is as simple as informing us that you would like the check to be sent to the charity of your choosing. You can also support your favorite charity by hosting a campaign among your employees and/or customers to encourage them to donate their unwanted phones to a worthy cause.  Support one of our partners.

All of these programs are completely free. Shipping, promotional material and everything you need to have a successful recycling program are totally free.

Poll: Which Smartphone is the best?

I know, I know…”there are so many Smartphones out their, how am I going to choose?”  Chances are if you are asking that question you probably don’t have a Smartphone.  From my experience, Smartphone users usually grow pretty attached to their devices and develop strong allegiances to them.  Asking which is the best Smartphone is like asking, “Pizza or liver?”  The answer is usually obvious.  In 2011, the cell phone industry went to the next level when several very impressive devices were introduced.

So, which is it? Defend your answer in the comments below.
