The CrossRoads Missions Appalachia Team has expanded its efforts into a second county.  With that comes the need for more staff, equipment, supplies, volunteers and more vehicles.  We have been praying and thinking of creative ways to acquire some of our needs.  We can use your old cell phones to purchase a truck. That’s right … a truck. All we need is approximately 240 working smart phones, 600 working non-smart cell phones or 72,000 non-working cell phones or some combination of them all and we will have collected enough phones to raise enough money to purchase a new truck for our Appalachia team.

CrossRoads Missions enhances existing ministries and organizations in areas where we serve by supporting them with additional resources they may be otherwise unable to provide.  Our overall desire is to improve the standard of living, raise expectations and find hope in Christ for families living in Eastern Kentucky.  We are currently partnered with the Maytown Center in Floyd County, Kentucky and Mountain Community Fellowship in Johnson County, Kentucky. Through weatherization, the construction of wheelchair ramps and porches and repairing of dilapidated homes of elderly and disabled families in Floyd and Johnson Counties, we hope to meet physical needs of these families and individuals and open the door for future or deeper involvement for these individuals or families with the Maytown Center and Mountain Community Fellowship. The goal is not only to provide them with a safe place to live, but to also engage them in community activities and encourage them emotionally and spiritually so that they may live an independent, safe and healthy lifestyle.

CrossRoads Missions combines the biblical principles of worship, service and discipleship by being a doorway for churches and individuals seeking ministry opportunities in places they may otherwise have difficulty serving. CrossRoads Missions has been accomplishing this goal by bringing people of all ages into missions in the United States and foreign fields since 1993.  These experiences greatly challenge those who participate to consider deeper involvement in ministry in both the world and their own communities.
