FAQs
What type of cell phones do you accept?
We pay for every cellphone you send us, whether it works or not. You can earn up to $75 for a newer, working cellphone; older phones are worth significantly less.
Can I send an individual phone?
Yes, you can send a newer, working smart phone. However, we can not pay shipping for individual phones.
Please mail it to:Get Green to Get Green 10010 Honey Ln. Louisville, KY 40229Do I need to sort and inventory the phones?
No. We ask only that you remove packaging, manuals, and other items unrelated to the collection.
How do I ship them to you?
A free shipping label can be generated and printed right from our web site. When you finish your collection campaign, seal the box with tape, put on the shipping label, and take it to a FedEx store or drop off for free delivery.
When should I send in the phones (is there a minimum amount of phones)?
You will be the best judge of this. You don’t want to hold on to the phones to long because they can lose their value. Usually if there are more than 15 phones you can send them, however if the collection is going strong wait until you have 50 or more phones.
Is there a set amount paid for a box of phones?
No! The amount of money earned from a box of phones will depend upon the age and condition of the phones received. For example, a box that contains mostly newer phones in working order could earn $2000 or more! However, a box filled with all very old and/or broken phones will pay significantly less.
How is the price of phones determined?
When a box of phones is received it is sorted by type, the phones are tested to see if they work, and all data is removed. The value of the newer, working phones is determined by the market price being offered on that day. You will receive an accounting of the number of phones received and their total value for scrap and working phones. Click here to see a current Price List
What do you do with the phones?
We recycle all phones that we receive. They are either refurbished, used for parts, or sold as scrap. All phones are sold to certified dealers to prevent them from ending up in landfills or harming citizens of third-world countries.
Can I run the program year round?
Yes. To run a successful year-round program, keep the collection boxes in a public place where there is steady foot traffic and visibility. You must also remind people on a regular basis to contribute their unwanted cell phones, printer/copier cartridges, and other hand-held electronic items.
Do you have templates for emails, and flyers?
Yes, these are provided for you on the website.
What other devices do you accept?
We accept any hand-held electronic device that fit in the slot on top of our box, such as MP3 players or IPods. We also accept all rechargeable batteries. Only scrap value is paid for these devices and batteries.
