Youth, Helping Them and Why It’s Worth It

There’s nothing better than helping another, is there?  I mean, I’m pretty sure the times I’ve felt the best are after I was able to provide for a need for someone who couldn’t do it on their own.  Whether it’s giving some loose change or providing a meal. Perhaps, lending my ear for an individual who just needs to talk, or sponsoring one of those children in another country who are desperate for assistance.  It could be as routine as offering a smile, or as urgent as life or death to the one who is hungry.  We all have needs in some way or another.  I’m certain this is why we humans are communal people.  From the first traces of our history we have always done best in community.  We heal best in community, we laugh the most in community, and it is in community that we are the most productive.

It is so much fun for me to be a part of a company that helps others who are helping others.  A primary focus of Get Green To Get Green is to help organizations, charities, churches, non-profits and even businesses raise money so that they can in turn help people in need.

There is a group of people that are in desperate need.  They are a people who hold the future of our nation and in fact the history of the world in their hands.  These are the ones who will shape our cultures and lead our nations.  It’s no surprise that these people are facing terrible suffering and hardship.  These people are our youth.  The youth (6th– 12th grade) of America and beyond have endured terrible emotional set backs.  Busy parents consumed with work, divorce, and the heaviness of fitting in with peers are just a few.  In many ways, these are some of the loneliest people in the world.  We all know (or do we?) how our kids handle such hardship.  There are many troubling statistics out there that I am not going to include in this article.

There are people who can hear their cry.  There are a few who have decided it’s worth the sacrifice.  Some who have given far more than anyone knows to reach out and help these who hold our future.

The youth of this world hold a very important key, which could open the door to the greatest prosperity our world has seen.

Thank you to all those who make the time to invest, encourage and listen to these who hold such terribly opposed value and influence this world has seen!  Thank you for noticing them.

Get Green To Get Green has partnered with My Broken Palace and is raising money to support the work of My Broken Palace, who is reaching out to our youth.  If you are attending any of the Youth Specialties, National Youth Workers Conventions, please bring your old cell phones to make a contribution toward restoring our youth.  By simply bringing in couple of old cell phones, you can make a difference.  The phones will be recycled and all of the money will go straight to My Broken Palace.  Look for their booth at Youth Specialties.
